Patrick Alexander studied English and Philosophy at Sussex University in the UK and moved to France in 1972 where he married and raised a family. During the 30 years spent traveling the world as an international finance professional, Patrick never lost his love for 19th century French literature. Trans-Pacific flights were never taken without a copy of Marcel Proust in his lap. Patrick resigned from his position as Director of Professional Advancement (and Director of the Wine Program) at the University of Miami in 2007 to focus on writing full time. His book Marcel Proust's Search for Lost Time was published by Vintage Books in September 2009.

Patrick's novel The Nigerian Letter was published in 2011 and can be purchased at www.nigerianletter.com

Working in close collaboration with the painter David Richardson, Patrick will be releasing The Illustrated Proust later in 2011. A preview can be seen at http://www.blurb.com/books/2068180

Patrick and his wife divide their time between Miami and France. Their grandchildren are being raised just outside Cabourg on the coast of Normandy - a town immortalized as Balbec in Marcel Proust's great novel.
